a) There are many positive results of social networking both for the present and future generations. They allow democratic uprisings, such as what happened in Egypt, Lybia, Bahrain, Yemen, and other countries. Through social networking they were able to share plans and common complaints and ideals to inspire the uprising. This will be a benefit today and for the forseeable future. Also, social networking allows you to keep up with friends, family, and other news and to learn more about people and the world around you. It is a way to connect with the world.
b) Although social networking is a tool for connection and friendship, there are also some dangers to using these social networking sites. Unfortunately there are many people who do not use these sites appropriately and post things like their phone numbers, their address and other personal information that should not be devulged online. Also, meeting people you do not know through facebook and then planning a live encouter can be very dangerous as there are many creeps who use these means to do terrible things. Also there are many viruses, scam artists, and other manipulative entities who use social networking to do business.
c) Social Media has very much changed my life. I am able to get online any time and see what friends and family are doing, what their saying to friends, and how they are going. When I moved to Brazil, Facebook was a great way to stay connected with my friends and a lot of friendships remained due to posts and chats on facebook. Furthermore, since being back, I constantly am communicating with friends through Facebook, whereas without it, we would probably be in less contact than we are now.
